Below is a list of the most common questions regarding CBD. We hope this helps educate you with the latest CBD information so you’re able to find the best CBD product for you!

What is CBD?

Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of 113 known cannabinoids in the cannabis plant. CBD has many beneficial properties and is used to promote wellness.

Why do people use CBD?

While no health claims can be made, the primary reasons cited by customers using CBD are for pain relief, anxiety relief, and to aid in promoting sleep. CBD also acts as an anti-inflammatory agent and is available in topical, edible, and tincture (drops) form.

What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds produced by the cannabis plant. The human body (and the bodies of all vertebrates) produce endocannabinoids, while cannabinoids found in plants are called phytocannabinoids. Cannabinoids interact with the body’s endocannabinoid system (ECS) to promote homeostasis.

How does CBD work?

The human body has two receptors for cannabinoids the CB1 and CB2 receptors. Although both are found all over the body, CB1 receptors are present in the brain and deal with pain, movement, cognitive function, and mood. CB2 receptors are more common in the immune system and affect pain and inflammation, among other things. THC attaches to the CB1 receptors, whereas CBD interacts with the CB2 receptors. Unlike THC which attaches to receptors, CBD does not attach to the CB2 receptor. Rather, researchers believe that CBD influences the body’s use of endocannabinoids (promoting homeostasis).

What is the endocannabinoid system?

The human endocannabinoid system, or ECS, is a system of neurotransmitters and cell membrane receptors. Neurotransmitters such as endocannabinoids are produced by the central nervous system and interact with cannabinoid receptors on cell membranes to adjust physiological processes at a cellular level.

What is a tincture?

Commonly referred to as “CBD Oil”, a CBD tincture is CBD in liquid form. CBD extracts (isolate or distillate) are infused into medium-chain triglycerides (MCT oil) from coconuts, which serves as a carrier oil. Tinctures are ingested orally. Fill the syringe on your dropper to 1ml and dispense under your tongue. Hold under your tongue for 60-90 seconds before swallowing.

How many milligrams of CBD should I take per serving?

Your effective dose will depend on a number of factors, including the severity of your condition, the delivery/consumption method, and the size of the person. Suggested dosing ranges from 5mg to 50mg per serving.

Will CBD work for me?

CBD has not been approved by the FDA, so CBD companies cannot make health claims. However, the top reasons our customers cite for using CBD include pain, inflammation, anxiety, and problems sleeping.

Do your products contain THC?

Our Full-Spectrum CBD products contain <0.3% THC, the Federally legal limit. Results are available on our Lab Results page.

What does full-spectrum mean?

Full-spectrum products are formulated with a CBD extract that has the same cannabinoid profile as the CBD biomass from which it came. We use only CBD biomass that is high in CBD, rich in minor cannabinoids, and below the legal threshold of 0.3% THC. Our Full-Spectrum Tinctures are under 0.3% THC and legal in all 50 states.

What are minor cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are compounds that act on the body’s endocannabinoid system that alter neurotransmitter release in the brain. Each cannabinoid interacts with the endocannabinoid differently and has different benefits. The most notable cannabinoids are CBD and THC, but there are at least 113 known cannabinoids. The other 111+ cannabinoids are commonly referred to as “minor cannabinoids”.

What are the most common minor cannabinoids?

Minor cannabinoids are another type of cannabinoid found in CBD and cannabis plants. These cannabinoids are “minor” because of their lower plant material concentrations, but their effects certainly aren’t minor. Currently, the most common minor cannabinoids are CBG, CBC, THCV, and CBN.

What is the entourage effect?

The presence of other cannabinoids and terpenes affect the way your body responds to cannabinoids in a synergistic manner in which the combined effect of CBD and other cannabinoids and/or terpenes is greater than the sum of its parts. If you would like to take advantage of the entourage effect, we recommend a Full Spectrum Tincture.

Does CBD interact with other medications?

More research needs to be done. If you are taking prescription medications, speak to a qualified health professional.

Which product is right for me?

The ideal method for taking CBD depends on the reason it is being used. For most conditions, we recommend a tincture due to its high bioavailability, precise dosing, and convenience. Many users also prefer topicals for certain conditions such as joint and muscle pain.

How long will it take to notice the benefits?

It depends on the method and dose. For products with high bioavailability like tinctures users often report immediate results. However, most of the effects of CBD are subtle and take up to a half hour or more to be detectable. Individual results may vary.

How often can I take CBD?

It depends on the reason CBD is used, but you can use CBD throughout the day, or at particular times.

Can I take CBD on an empty stomach?

Yes, there are usually no issues when taken on an empty stomach.

What kind of testing is performed on your product?

We send samples to a third-party lab for all CBD used in processing, all extracts we produce, and each batch of CBD products we formulate to ensure purity, accurate cannabinoid concentrations, and consistency.

Do you test for potency, pesticide, heavy metals, and yeast/mold/microbial contamination?

Yes, we send samples to a third-party lab for all CBD used in processing, all extracts we produce, and each batch of CBD products we formulate to ensure purity, accurate cannabinoid concentrations, and consistency. This includes testing for THC levels and potential contaminants.

Will CBD get me high?

Unlike THC, CBD is non-psychotropic and is extremely unlikely to cause a high.

Can your products cure/treat my condition?

CBD has not been approved by the FDA in the treatment of any condition aside from seizure disorders. Consult a physician to determine if you could benefit from using CBD.

Are CBD and marijuana the same thing?

CBD is legally defined as cannabis with less than 0.3% of the cannabinoid THC. THC causes a high and is illegal federally. CBD contains trace amounts of THC, is unlikely to cause a high, and is legal to possess in all 50 US states.

What extraction method do you use?

Like most CBD processors, we use ethanol and hydrocarbon as our solvent of choice. Although it is possible to use CO2 as a solvent to produce the highest purity extracts, ethanol and hydrocarbon has emerged as a more energy-efficient and scalable alternative. It is important to note that all solvent is removed from the extracts through a process of evaporation and distillation. Check out our CBD School for education on the process.

Where do you get your CBD?

We currently source our CBD from a USDA certified organic farm in Tennessee.

Are your products Kosher?

All of our products are kosher except for our gummies, which are made with gelatin, and our CBD Pet Tincture, which contains Bone Broth Collagen.

What else can CBD be used for?

CBD has a variety of uses. According to a 2018 report by Congressional Research Services, there are an estimated 25,000 products derived from CBD in the following categories: agriculture, textiles, recycling, automotive, furniture, food and beverages, paper, construction materials, and personal care.

Can I give my pet CBD?

Yes, high-quality CBD is safe for pets.

How is your product different from others?

CBD products should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dark place. Exposure to air, direct sunlight, and heat can degrade CBD.

What is the difference between CBD and THC?

CBD is a variety of cannabis that is under 0.3% THC. It is grown for food, fiber, or CBD extracted from its flowers. In other words, CBD is a derivative of the CBD plant.

Will CBD show up on a drug test?

If you are using a full spectrum CBD there is a greater than zero chance that the trace and legal amount of THC in the product could cause you to test positive for THC. These products are not expected to cause a positive result for THC. However, we cannot and do not represent or warrant the results that any individual may experience and advises customers to consider the risks of incorrect detection prior to use of this product. If you would like to see our third-party lab results, visit our Lab Results page. You can also scan the QR on the label to view lab results and CBD information.

What is hemp seed oil?

Is CBD good for me if I’m perfectly healthy?

Due to its interaction with the endocannabinoid system to help support the body’s effort to maintain homeostasis, CBD is very popular among people with no health concerns seeking to optimize health.

Do you have an FDA disclosure?

FDA Disclosure: These statements have not been evaluated by the FDA and are not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure any disease. Consult a physician before using cannabidiol (CBD) in any form during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. *Cannabidiol (CBD) is a natural constituent of CBD oil.

Should I look for CBD on Amazon?

Purchasing CBD products on Amazon is a precarious undertaking because Amazon doesn’t allow the sale of CBD products, which creates a murky group of sellers that are having to constantly re-upload their products after Amazon pulls them down. There are ways to stay under the radar longer by advertising products as “CBDs” instead of specifying the specific CBD extract used in product formulation. This lack is transparency leads to many products that do not even contain CBD, or have far lower than reported milligram content. Some companies even sell CBD seed oil and market it in a way that leads customers to believe it is CBD. Most of it comes from overseas, and you find very few national US brands on Amazon.

What is CBDa?

Cannabidiol acid, or CBDa for short, is a natural compound that the cannabis plant produces. It’s primarily found in plant material (CBD biomass or flower), or in extracts that are processed without the application of heat (crude CBD oil).
